Adventure Nerja

In Nerja and Torrox as well as its surrounding areas there are many possibilities for sporting activities such as diving on the coast of Nerja, horseback riding in the Sierra de Almijara or hiking through the Chillar river.

There are a lot of activities on the beach of Nerja, from fishing (sea fishing or fishing on the beach) surfing, waterbikes, diving and you can even explore sea caves in a kayak.

Available beach activities

• Rent a water scooter
  
• Kayak: enjoy the pretty landscapes of Nerja from the water. There are Kayaks available that will hold 1 to 3 people (Kano). There are also courses available. You can even enter some caves with your Kayak.
  
• Kite Surfing: on windy days you can kite surf, a way of surfing with a kite. There are surf schools on 2 of Nerjas beaches: El Playazo and la Torreccilla.
  
• Diving: it is possible to dive on various beaches and sea caves of Nerja
  

Activities in the mountains:

There are various activities available close to Nerja, in the Sierra Almijara, Tejeda and Alhama (Sierra of Nerja) such as horseback riding, paintball, 4x4 excursions, mountain bike descents, hiking, climbing, etc.

• Parasailing: flying with the use of the airstreams in the mountains of Nerja. There are courses available during the entire year for all levels. For the beginner there is a wide and flat terrain. For the experts that wish to improve their techniques there is an uneven terrain. The experts can go along on an excursion to the cliffs of Maro and Cerro Gordo.
  
• Hiking: in the surrounding áreas of Nerja various trails start, such as the Cachorros del Río Chillar, la Fuente de Esparto, el Almendrón, climb of the Cuesta del Cielo, etc. There are also hiking trails with guides available.
  
• Horseback riding: there are various horseback riding excursions available with or without guide. These excursions are possible on the beach, in the mountains and through the villages such as Frigiliana. Read more about horseriding in Nerja in our page dedicated to Horseback riding.
  
• PaintBall: nearby Nerja, in Almuñecar, there is a paintball centre where you can go in large or small groups. The groups are divided into 2 separate teams that play against each other.
  
• Cycling/Mountain biking:from Nerja and Torrox you can go down various bicycle routes at various levels. One such possible route could be: Nerja-Torrox-Competa, a cycle route of 45.1km for the advanced.
