When the olive or vineyard workers in Torrox heard the Seashell being sound they new it was time to regain their strengths. Everybody would get together around the large pan in the cortijo (Spanish large farmhouse) where the owner would prepare the "migas". It is a very economical and ideal meal to help you through the remainder of the day. Las migas is prepared with corn flower (or a loaf of bread that is at least a day old), oil and water. In Torrox they serve it with arriera salad, comprising of tamatos, orange slices and olives.
The Fiesta is celebrated on the Sunday before Christmas day. This is a lasting tradition and a happy excuse for the municipal of Torrox to receive about forty thousand visitors every year making this fiesta one of the most popular and most visited gastronomical fiestas in the region. From early in the morning, a large group of migueros are striving to prepare the Migas which will be dealt out with salad in various corners of the municipal after the sounding of the Seashell. The Migas is washed down with wine from barrels selected through a competition held earlier between local producers. The fiesta is completed with music and dance acts for all ages, at the same time numerous street venders sell wine, honey, raisins, figs, mini donuts or the traditional Arropía.

The fair is opened on the Friday in the Plaza de la Constitución in Torrox where one can enjoy acts by dance groups. There are activities and parties all through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday at eight the procession of the move of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves to the Ermita is commenced which finished with a spectacular Fireworks show. Afterwards, at night time in the caseta oficial, the festive program is closed.

The floats leave at 10.30 on Saturday to collect San Antonio at the temple. They than scroll through the town streets until the el recinto de la Feria where his alter is prepared in "Las Protegidas"

The festivities are in honor of their seaman Virgen del Carmen. During these festivities there is an on boat fishing competition, shows in the tents and on the big day the maritime procession of its Patron.

In Homage to the thousands of tourists, national and international that choose Torrox to spend their summer. The traditional meal, "Las Migas", is served at the Ferrara beach. Also other traditional meals such as the arriera salad, charcoal grilled sardines and drinks are handed out.

During the Holy Week in Torrox, there is only one brotherhood. Endless long parades of penitents dressed in black, burning candles in prayer and penance.
Their robes are simple so they can climb the narrow arabic built streets which characterize the village.
