It seems that there are a lot of questions about the weather in the Costa del Sol, more specifically for the month of October. In general October is dry but you can have days that with a few showers. The temperature is around 20 degrees and at night time it drops till about 17. You can see the most beautiful blue skies of the year in October with just one or two specs of a cloud, amazing sunsets and sunrises with many warm colors.
The climate on the Costa del Sol is Mediterranean, with mild summers and winters. Close to the Costa del Sol, on the tops of the Sierra Nevada, you can even ski in the winter while the sun is shining.
In General the summers are warm and dry and the winters are a Little cooler with more rain; the yearly rainfall is mainly during the winter and it happens that you donīt see a drop of rain during the June-July and August months.
The average yearly temperature is about 16.5 °C. The extreme heat is mainly inland in provinces such as Seville where you find less mountains and less wind, the temperatures can rise above 40°C.
The hottest city in Andalusia is Écija, province of Seville, where you have an average temperature of 28.5°.
You can enjoy a lovely breeze on the Costa del Sol in the summer from the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. With over 2.800 sun hours a year the Costa del Sol is one of the sunniest areas in Spain. No wonder they call it the Costa del Sol!
